Good Morning Everyone,
Wow, what a weekend for outdoor activities in the north woods. From skiing to ice fishing, and especially snowmobiling it was a great spring like weekend. The trails Friday were excellent, and they were about the same Saturday, except for the the mid and late day bumps from the higher traffic. On Saturday afternoon, we did break freezing, and the trails did soften, and they were also soft late yesterday morning, into the afternoon. But that all should be changing, as another cooler front passes our area, and we should have cool temps until the weekend, when a return to freezing like temps hits for the Saturday/Sunday period. We do have some snow chances today, but the major storm will again move through southern WI. Our snow chances are sounding better for Thursday, and again next week.
One thing to keep in mind, as we get the higher sun, trail selection will become important for the days ride. This last Saturday, TR 8, in Iron county had it's share of bumps, but 19 from Chucks Bar to the J trails was almost untouched. Likewise, north of Mercer, the bumps that existed Saturday on 17 , were all gone yesterday. For those liking some lake riding, watch the drifting.
From what we have right now, we remain in Good to Very Good Riding Condition. With our current forecasts we should have a good week, and good upcoming weekend, again.
As always, Drive and Ride Safely.
