Manitowish Waters Trail Reports - 02/27/2009

Good Morning Everyone,

The storm was a few hours later than forecast, but it arrived. My early morning assessment is that we received between 5-7 inches. For the snowmobile trails which were in "Good" condition before the storm, they only got better. Late night riders reported very good conditions, despite any packing or grooming. My thoughts are that it's going to be a great weekend for everyone, on the trails.
For those who want to plan ahead, temps should be in the teens through the weekend, then gradually move back to the freezing point next Wednesday, just before the next storm arrives. So here you go, great late February and early March snowmobiling. It right now appears next week, and into next weekend should provide one of the better periods for trail conditions, maybe better than we have seen this year.
For the rest of the winter enthusiasts, downhill and x-county should also benefit from this last storm. Again, conditions at both Indianhead and Powderhorn were excellent before the arrival of this latest dumping.

Warm up the car, and head north.

Rich
