Good Morning Everyone,
This past weekends arctic blast is now behind us. Yesterday's 26 degrees for the high, as well as last nights 14 degrees felt outright balmy. It looks that this moderating temperature trend will continue, as forecasted into Thursday. The mix for Thursday, is still on track, although the forecasts don't really seem to be calling for much. Temps tomorrow, vary in the forecasts, from 36-40. But without the sun, the icy base and snow, should hold well in to the weekend. Nighttime temps are still expected to be in the low 20's then towards the teens as we get near Saturday evening. Snow showers are also back into the forecast for the weekend, and highs next week, back in the 20's. So, I guess unless something dramatically changes, we should have a good weekend, and well into the next.
The snowmobile trails in the Manitowish Waters area remain in Good to Very good condition. My guess is tomorrow, they will soften, but hopefully the 20's for the evenings will firm any damage from tomorrows mix. Beyond, that, Saturday and Sunday should be good riding.
As far as downhill skiing. Indianhead's slopes remain in excellent condition.
I'll try to give an update over the next 2 days if and as conditions change.
Still plenty of snow, join us in the northwoods.
Rich
