Manitowish Waters - 4/20/2009

Good Morning Everyone,

Well it looks like spring ended last night, and we are moving on to our next season, WINTER! Yep, believe it or not, the ground was white this morning, and the forecasts are calling for a "winter storm warning", with 6+ inches over the next 24 hours. So much for the wearing of shorts, and raking the yard. The good news is, we really need the moisture, and this weather event will be well over by Wednesday, and back into the 60's for Thursday. So adding this winter color to the scene for a day, really isn't that bad.
On the lake level front, our chain still has good ice on most all of the lakes, well except for Spider, as you can see from Greer's web cams. If not for this cool down for today and tomorrow, I would have thought we would ice free by this Friday, and we still may. The lakes really need this upcoming snow, to add to chain inflows which seemed to have really slowed to a halt, due to the lack of spring rains.
Check back in on Thursday. We should be back to spring!

Have a great day.

Rich
