Good Morning Everyone,
Here we are on the eve of the beginning of May, and the opening of the fishing season this weekend. Our local level of activity has been slowly building over the past week, and there are finally signs of "returning life" to the north woods. While the recent activity is really welcomed, it is by no means to the levels of past years. I am afraid our "economic stimulus" still needs much more stimulating.
On the Dam front. We have been starting to rebuild chains levels since last weekend. It looks like we have been adding an inch a day, or so. We still need some good spring rains to give us the much needed runoff, to give us the next 2.5 feet needed for summer levels. The new boards, which were installed last week, will be giving us better management and measurement of the flows, so we don't have the same issues of 2 years ago.
Our weather for the upcoming fishing opener should be really good. Forecasts are calling for sunny, mid 50 to near 60 degree days, from Friday into next week. Our night's are still falling back to the mid to high 30's.
As I mentioned last time, it's a great time for yard work, and making those summer plans.
Have a great weekend.
Rich
